What is Multimedia?

Multimedia is the use of more than one medium to communicate and share

ideas or expressions

Different types of media

• Text – the written word which is the way to communicate simply

• Audio – the spoken word and sounds which are played to give the effect of sound

• Video – the displayed image which shows and creates moving imagery

• Graphics – can include pictures which help to display and make more obvious the ideas communicated

• Animation – moving graphics which can bounce and pop out to catch the attention of the onlooker
