What is Marin Transit?The Marin County Transit District (Marin Transit) was established by a vote of the people in Marin County in 1964 and was given the responsibility for providing local transportation services within Marin County.

» Personalized eligibility & Marin Access program information, and referrals.

ParatransitAn alternative for individuals who cannot ride the public bus due to a disability.

» Paratransit is a door-to-door, shared-ride service mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

» All riders must apply and be determined eligible. Travel Navigators will walk you through the application and eligibility process.

» Service is provided within ¾ mile of regular Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit bus lines.

» Travel time will be similar to that of a trip taken on the public bus.

» Several riders will be transported at one time in the same vehicle.

» Group presentations on the Marin Access family of programs

Catch-A-RideReceive up to eight discounted taxi rides per month.

» Eligible riders are Marin residents 80+, 60-80 and no longer driving, or ADA eligible

» $14 or $18 subsidy (income dependent) towards your ride

» Dependent on taxi availability. A scheduler will confirm your request with the taxi company.

» Wheelchair accessible vehicles

Volunteer DriverGive back to the people who help get you around!

» Eligible participants are Marin residents 60+ or ADA eligible

» Mileage reimbursement available for you to share with a driver of your choice

» STAR (East Marin) — $0.35 per mile up to 100 miles per month

» TRIP (West Marin) — $0.40 per mile up to 400 miles per month
