Thank You Delta Grow Customers,

For almost 50 years, Delta Grow has been

providing farmers in the Mid-South delta region a

local voice in variety selection. Those years have

seen many changes in agriculture and in our

company Delta Grow. Our focus has been and will

continue to be our farmers and our family. We

cannot have one without the other.

Growers face many challenges each year.

Cold and wet springs with emergence issues.

Drought. Never ending cycles of pests and

diseases. Herbicide tolerant weeds. The

agronomists and salesmen of Delta Grow

continually search for answers to grower problems.

The new Liberty Link varieties offer high

yield and options for Palmer amaranth control.

Delta Grow has a new conventional variety for those

needing to deliver trait-free soybeans. We still keep

your “old standby” type glyphosate tolerant

varieties with reliable, tried and true performance.

Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® varieties are

also excellent yielders with several disease package

and STS herbicide tolerance offerings. There is a

bean for every scenario out there in our product line

up.

Corn variety selection can be challenging.

This product guide will allow you to make informed

decisions regarding which insect and herbicide

traits you need on your farm.

We know you have lots of seed companies to

choose from in the marketplace. Thank you for

choosing Delta Grow to provide quality seed and

top notch customer service.

Sincerely,

Lee Hughes

Corn Insect and Herbicide Traits

Hybrids with the Agrisure GT trait provide excellent tolerance to in-crop

applications of glyphosate based herbicides.

The Agrisure GT/CB/LL trait stack provides season long control

or suppression of insects as well as herbicide flexibility with both

glyphosate and glunfosinate tolerance. Refuge required.

The Agrisure Viptera 3110 trait attack combines the Agrisure Vipterra

trait with the Agrisure GT/CB/LL trait to provide unparalleled control of

above the ground insects. It is ideal for growers for whom rootworm

management is not a primary concern, and it offers herbicide flexibility

withboth glyphosate and glufosinate tolerance.

Insect Resistance Management: Combat Resistance with a Refuge

Resistance has developed in nature to some pest control tactics. The risk of insect resistance is real, but may

be minimized with proper planning. The best way to preserve the benefits and insect protection of corn trait

products is to develop and implement an IRM (Insect Resistance Management) plan.

The key component of any IRM plan is a corn refuge. A refuge is simply a block or strip of corn that does not

contain a Bacillus thuringensis (B.t.) technology for controlling targeted corn insect pests. The primary purpose

of a refuge is to maintain a population of corn insect pests that are not exposed to the B.t. proteins. The lack of

exposure to B.t. proteins allows susceptible insects nearby to mate with any rare resistant insects that may

emerge from B.t. corn. Susceptibility to B.t. technology would then be passed on to their offspring, helping to

preserve the long term effectiveness of insect protected crops.

The refuge should be planted with a similar hybrid, as close as possible to, and at the same time as the corn

technologies to help reduce the risk of corn borer and/or corn rootworm developing resistance. By having an

IRM plan in place, growers will continue to benefit from the effective and consistent corn borer and rootworm

protection and top yield potential found in insect protected products.

Farmers who purchase corn hybrids containing insect protection for planting in 2016 are required by

the U.S. EPA to implement an IRM plan. Failure to follow IRM requirements and properly plant a refuge

may result in the loss of access to insect protected corn technology. Please do your part to ensure

that this corn technology is preserved by implementing an IRM plan on your farm.

SEED PROTECTION: RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEFINITIONS: 1970 Plant Variety Protection Act (PVPA) - Legislation enacted to promote the development of new varieties by allowing the variety owner to determine who may sell seed of the variety. Farmers may save seed for their own planting needs and sell that amount to a neighbor, if plans for that variety change. All seed sales must comply with state seed laws. Applies to all varieties protected prior to April 4, 1995. 1994 Amended PVPA - Amendment to the Plant Variety Protection Act that prohibits the sale of any farmer saved seed without the permission of the variety owner. It also extends protection to tuber reproduced plants, varieties essentially derived from the variety, and harvested material of the variety. Seed protected under the 1994 PVPA must be sold by variety name (except for turf, forage, alfalfa & clover). Length of protection was increased to 20 years for most kinds, 25 years for trees, shrubs and vines. Applies to all varieties protected after April 4, 1995. Title V - an option for protected varieties that allows for the sale of the seed by variety name only as a class of certified seed. Non-certified sales are prohibited. Seed may be called “Certified” only after meeting all requirements and standards of an Official Seed Certifying Agency. Utility Patents - A means of protection for certain varieties, especially those developed through genetic engineering or biotechnology. Farmers may not save, clean/condition, or sell any seed protected under a utility patent.
