WHO ARE WE?
Research Driven, Data Centric, Assessment Led Learning Improvement Company
Worked across populations – slum children to top private schools across the world to Governments of States of India and ASEAN Countries.
We are a strong diagnostic core that understands student learning.
Over the past 11 years, we have the largest collection of student responses in the world.
We have used the data of student learning from our Assessment Offerings to develop Learning Systems (Mindspark) in English, Gujarati and Hindi.

Too much emphasis on marks/tests but inadequate focus on quality.
Movement of the whole learning system from rote to understanding
Scalability of learning is an issue given the plummeting quality of teachers.
HOW WE GOT GOING
Set up and ran the Eklavya School and the Eklavya Institute of Teacher Education
Saw that the gap was in understanding the problem (the why) rather than providing infrastructural solutions (the how).
Started a diagnostic test – ASSET which uncovered the learning gaps even in the top private schools of India.
MOTIVATING CHALLENGES
Changing mindsets of the system from Rote, to Learning with Understanding - DONE
Compiling all Learning Gaps systematically based on data rather than “expert” views. – DONE FOR MATHS
Moving stakeholders from “Transmission based learning” to “Personalised Learning” – Ongoing
OUR OFFERINGS ADDRESS KEY CHALLENGES
ASSET was an eye-opener for schools, questioning norms of what complete and holistic education should be.
DA is providing teachers with data for remediation within 48 hrs of testing.
Mindspark provides personalized learning within the school framework (which is inherently impersonal).
Large Scale assessment provides accurate data for better decision making, for large educational systems.
WHY PVT?
Emphasised on self-sustainability ensured that EI was cash-positive in the 3rd year of operations.
One of the few Education Companies that has achieved scale and is generating healthy profits (no undue risks).
Setting an example for over a decade, that growth and social impact can be achieved even within the framework of a private company.
HOW CAN OTHERS SUPPORT EI?
The Educational ecosystem needs more companies to invest in Research in Student Learning (similar to the investment made by Pharma companies in new molecule research)
Government is understanding the value of assessments (many State Governments are commissioning base-line and end-line studies). The next step is to focus on scalable tools for learning improvement.
