SOFTWARE INCIDENTS IMPACT YOUR BUSINESS
Management was informed that a large number of incidents, related to a business-critical application,
were reported by end users.
The defective business application results in daily revenue loss. The responsible IT manager
immediately started investigating the root cause of the problem.
Additionally, the management board made clear that such incident must not occur again. Appropriate
actions need to be taken in order to avoid such situation in future.

LESSON LEARNED
SAVE COSTS BY RESOLVING THE CAUSE
In this example, the Effectiveness Platform reveals that
the critical bugs have occurred in overly and unnecessary
complex areas of the code. Additionally, although a
thorough testing initiative had been implemented, the
complex code, that causes the malfunctioning was
sparsely tested.
Having learnt the lesson, IT Management decides to use
the Effectiveness Platform regularly to identify
problematic coding before it leads to incidents in
production causing significant loss in revenue.
