What came from the War of 1812?

When the United States burned down York (Toronto) The British were very angry at the United States. So they went to Washington D.C. and burned down Washington D.C. They also burned the president’s house.

When they were painting the presidents house the wood was black from all the smoke and burnt wood. They used white paint to cover the black wood, so the whole house was white.

The White House

Star Spangled Banner The star spangled

McHenrey was over and the whole time he wrote a poem about how the American flag still there, not a British or white flag. It consists of four verses. Many only know the first.
