“Childhood is a mirror, which reflect in after life the images first presented to it’ -Samuel Smiles Childhood is a very important phase in any person‟s life. The young mind is at its imaginative, intuitive and curious best. Children constantly seek answers for the numerous experiences that they encounter every day. A child‟s mind is neither fully developed to interpret and analyse the situation nor can he / she differ-entiate clearly between right or wrong. If their queries are not addressed correctly, the children have a tendency to be confused and they end up discovering dangerous ways to satiate their curiosity. Unfortunately, by the time this comes to anyone‟s notice, they have already burnt their little fingers. They are children, just as we were children. Its okay for them to learn to accept a „NO‟ or be scolded if they have made a mistake. We only need to explain to them that we are their well-wishers and it is our bounded duty to not permit them to fall into traps or commit mistakes which raise questions on their upbring-ing. (Be it by their home or school). When you say good bye to your children as they leave for school, let the words „Be Safe‟ be your wish to them. He /she must know that you are saying so because you love them and you want to see them safe as well as happy. This ‘Be Safe’ would mean a gamut of reminders for them. Take time to talk to them about this.
Be Safe when you cross the road … Meaning...Look left and right before you cross the road.
Be Safe in your classroom...Meaning...Don‟t go jumping on top of tables and benches or run around the classroom.
Be Safe in the interval...Meaning...Stay calm. Play, have fun but don‟t get pleasure out of hurting others. Your over excited behaviour or carelessness should not be the cause of another person landing up in the hospital.
Be Safe from all scoldings...Meaning...Follow your school rules of uniform, haircut & discipline. Remember your teachers are your well-wishers. They are not going to get anything out of scolding you for no reason.
This does not mean that our children will not make mistakes, just as we may have. This only means that we are doing our job and constantly reminding them, though not being judgemental. It‟s a huge responsibility but it is the one we have chosen for ourselves and I pray that the Good Lord gives each one of us grace and wisdom to bring up our wards in a manner that is pleasing to God We at St. Mary‟s are constantly working to educate our students by providing them the right direction and guidance. We urge all the parents to join hands with us in our endeavours to bless our children with a happy and secure life. God Bless

WASTE WATER TREATMENT
PLANT AT ST. MARY’S
In keeping with the tradition of being a green school, St. Mary‟s School, Dwarka has now been fitted with a waste water treatment system. Here, grey water i.e.- water from the kitchen is treated , recycled and reused in horticulture. The treated volume of water is 2500 litres per day.
10.02.2016 &15.02.2016– Our school participated in the National
Deworming Drive. The students were administered the deworming
dose.
According to UNICEF, worm infestation can impact a child‟s ability
to learn. The growth rate among children who are dewormed regu-
larly is higher. School-based deworming is universally recognized
as a safe, simple and cost-effective solution. Regular follow up can
reduce school absenteeism by 25% per year.
