MEETING 1 SUMMARY
MEETING DATE February 8, 2017 VOTING SELECTION PANELISTS Ashley Summers, Community Representative Regina Almaguer, Arts Professional Weston Teruya, Arts Professional JD Beltran, Arts Commissioner Blair Randall, Client Representative PROCESS Round One: Arts Commission staff presented the qualifications of 11 artists selected from the 2015/16 Prequalified Artist Pool for the Westside Pump Station public art opportunity. “Yes/No” majority votes based on the criteria of Artistic Excellence and Appropriate to Project Goals yielded 6 artists to move to Round Two. Round Two: The Artist Selection Panel discussed the qualifications of the semi-finalists and scored each artist on the following criteria (1= low score):
• Artistic Excellence (1-10) • Appropriate to Project Goals (1-10)
Round Two voting yielded three finalists and one alternate to recommend to the Arts Commission. RESULTS The following artists received the highest scores: Finalists: Jet Martinez 95 Jovi Schnell 86 Aileen Barr 84 t.w. five 71 ARTS COMMISSION APPROVAL| Motion: Motion to approve the following finalists for the Westside Pump Station Reliability Improvements Project Selection Panel as recommended by the Westside Pump Station Reliability Improvements Project Selection Panel: Jet Martinez, Jovi Schnell, Aileen Barr, and alternate t.w. five.

Project Background and Objective
PROJECT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE
The Westside Pump Station has been in service for over 30 years since 1985. It is the SFPUC’s main wastewater pump station servicing the west side of the City of San Francisco therefore its continued service and reliability is critical. The objective of the Westside Pump Station Reliability Improvements Project is to increase reliability of its operations to comply with the current maximum permitted level of Combined Sewage Discharges.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Construction of a below-grade channel and a vertical shaft with connection to existing facility• Renovation/reconstruction of a portion of the existing pump station to accommodate construction of new
channel/shaft and installation of new mechanical equipment• Construction of a new electrical building to provide a redundant power feed and increase the power
capacity• Providing a new driveway for improved access and other site improvements
