PRIEST’S SUMMER COLLECTION:

Is being taken up at all Masses this weekend, Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3 rd July. This is one of the four annual collections that make up the priests’ salaries. Thank you for your generosity and support at all times.

GOOD NEWS CLUB:

We wish all Good News Club Members well as they start a well deserved Summer break this week, we thank them for their great work with the young members of our parish community ‘the future of our Church’ on a weekly basis particularly and at other significant times in the Church calendar. The Good News Club Committee would like to thank all the parents and children for their commitment at all times. New volunteers are always welcome. The Good News Club will resume again on Sunday 4 th September 2016.

CARE OF CREATION/ECO CONGREGATION : Wean yourself off disposable plastics : This week to help improve our environment we are asked to reduce plastic pollution whose ill effects are irreversible. As plastic is less expensive, it is one of the most widely available and overused item in the world today. When disposed of it does not decompose easily and pollutes our land, sea, rivers and air nearby when burned in the open air. Ninety percent of the plastic items in our daily lives are used once and then thrown away; grocery bags, plastic wrap, disposable cutlery, straws, coffee-cup lids…take note how often we rely on these products and replace when possible with reusable versions.

Next Sunday 10 th July we will have a special ‘cuppa’ after 10 a.m. Mass at Carrowbeg House for Fr. Karl, as he leaves us to return to his native Galway!! We wish Fr. Karl well as he takes up his new appointment in Mountbellew, on Friday 15 th July and thank him sincerely for his dedicated service to us all here in the parish over the last six years.
