Factions for Athletics Carnival
This year we will have a combined
schools Athletics Carnival with
Westminster Primary (senior school)
and Westminster Education
Support Centre. Currently the senior
school have three factions and
they have quite a few activities
where students identify with those
factions. At our school, it is only at
the Athletics Carnival that students
are put into their factions. In order
for the Carnival to run smoothly, our
school will change from 4 factions
to 3 factions. This means that your
child may change factions this
year. If your child has an older
sibling at one of the other schools
we will put them in the sibling’s
faction.
If you have any concerns about
the changes please speak with me
as soon as possible on 9349 4290.
Parents will be notified about the
specific changes before the end of
term.

NEWSLETTER ISSUE 8 – 31st May 2016
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Congratulations
I would like to acknowledge the
hard work of Mrs Lis Mathiasen
who has been successful in
winning a Travel Award from the
World Organisation for Early
Childhood Education (OMEP) for
her project on play and resilience.
Mrs Mathiasen will fly to Korea with
her project partner, Dr Dawn
Butterworth in July to present at
the OMEP Conference.
It is wonderful that our students
can work with such talented staff
and we wish Mrs Mathiasen a safe
and successful trip.
Parking and Driving Safely
I have been notified by the Police
Traffic Infringement Department
that there are a number of parents
not parking safely. The police have
also requested that parents make
sure that there are appropriate
safety restraints (car seats) and
that cars are not over crowded
with children.
Please be aware that police will
be visiting the school parking areas
before and after school to check
that cars have the correct number
of car seats.
