Problem and Solution

A Day at the Pool

Charlie and his friends decided to hang out all day at the community pool. It was a gorgeous day, so it seemed like a good idea. Once the kids got there, some of Charlie’s friends decided to jump off the highest diving board. But Charlie was afraid of heights. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t want to seem scared in front of his friends, but he was. Charlie thought for a minute. Then he had an idea. He decided he would pretend he was Duke Dodger, his favorite action hero. Duke wasn’t afraid of anything. Charlie, pretending to be Duke, climbed up the ladder and leaped into the air.
