Tonight also marks back-to- back games in which West Virginia utilizes a spot starter. Cederlind’s start came against these very RiverDogs on April 24. The right-hander went three and two-thirds innings and gave up two earned runs while walking two and striking out three. Cederlind made six starts in six appearances in 2016 with the Bristol Pirates. He was 0-1 with a 4.67 ERA. NOT THE TV SHOW: Charleston starter Freicer Perez has faced West Virginia once this season. Perez pitched at Appalachian Power Park on April 25. The righty was one out away from qualifying for his first win with two outs in the fourth, but Perez hit Logan Ratledge before being lifted from the game. Charleston defeated the Power 3-1. GOING, GOING GONE: The Power struck for four home runs in yesterday’s win. The West Virginia pitching staff surrendered two long balls to the RiverDogs. It was the second time this year the club has hit four home runs in a game and also the second time the pitching staff had allowed two home runs in a game this season. GIMME GIMME MORE: This season, the Power are 14-3 when score five or more runs in a game, good for a .882 winning percentage. West Virginia is 3-16 when scoring less than five runs. THE LONG ROAD AHEAD: After this four-game series, West Virginia will play 14 of their next 18 games on the road.
