Who we are and what we doThe West Lothian Wolves are the only competitive basketball club in West Lothian. We are a volunteer run, family oriented club that are working to promote basketball in West Lothian. We have teams for primary aged children right up to adults for both men and women. All our teams are currently in an competition for their age group and ability.

Going into the 2011-2012 season we are running teams for the following age groups:

Age Group Gender Competition

Primary Children Boys and Girls Local League

Under 14 Boys and Girls Local League

Under 18 Boys National League/Local League

Senior Men Male Lothian League Division 1 and Division

2

Senior Women Female Lothian League

Our Primary sessions provide a fun introduction to the game of basketball for boys and girls. Our qualified coaches work with the children to improve their individual skills, team skills and communication, while preparing them for playing in a competitive regional league.

At under-14 level the boys and girls build on their existing skill set to more complex skills whilst introducing plays in an attempt to further prepare our players for competition. Our under 14 teams play in the East/Central League.

There currently is not an under 16 team, however the players coming through from under 14s over the next couple of years will fill into the

under 16 squad. It is the club’s goal to have a cadet team in the National League within the next two years.

At under-18 level the players are competing at National League which sees our players travel all over the country to play games. This includes games in Inverness and Aberdeen a couple of times a season.

At senior level we have for both Men and Women teams. The Men have two squads who compete in the Lothian League Division 1 and Division 2 while the women also compete in the Lothian League.

Volunteers NeededWest Lothian Wolves Basketball Club relies wholly on Volunteers and the support of parents and friends. Everyone associated with the Club has enjoyed the success of the past years and our members have benefited from the work put in by the coaches and volunteers who keep the club running. But there is a limit to what this small group can do.

If the Club is to develop further we need to spread the load. We need more volunteers to assist with the operation aspect of the Club. The

following are areas are just some of the ‘backroom’ tasks where the Club needs your help:-
