Scottish Vocational QualificationsSVQs are work-based qualifications, designed and developed by Sector skills Councils (SSCs) through consultation with employers and practitioners.

West Lothian College provides: Advice regarding appropriate S/NVQ

awards including level, structure and cost

A personal assessor and an individual assessment plan for each employee

Reports on progress and achievement to employees and employers where appropriate

Regular pre-arranged planning and assessment visits with employees and assessor

Email and telephone access to guidance and support from the College assessor

Access to a range of support facilities within the College

ApprenticeshipsAs employees, apprentices work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. With the support of an assessor from West Lothian College they will achieve SVQ and Modern Apprenticeship certification. If you have or are an employee aged 16 – 24 please call as we may have funding available.

FundingThe potential returns from increased profits make training a smart investment. There are a variety of government, council, private and European schemes that provide financial support for businesses.
