The West Irvine Intermediate Chorus, un- der the direction of Rick Chaney, presented Highlights from Disney’s Frozen on Thurs- day, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. Songs included were: “Frozen Heart,” “For The First Time in Forever,” “Love is an Open Door,” “In Summer”, “Let it Go,” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Mr. Chaney would like to thank the students, parents/guardians, family, and grandparents as well as the school staff for this success- ful choral music performance event. Spe- cial thanks to Mr. Randall Christopher’s team who set up risers, our custodial staff, Steve Harrison, Doris Harrison, and Kathy Hall for their assistance, Mrs. Jodi Sims for helping with the staging, videography, and sound technical support, and Mrs. Cindy Robinson and her students for themed wall decorations and other props. December 3rd, 2014 was the first Family and Consumer Science Day at Estill County High School and was observed across the state of Kentucky. Family and Consumer Science has over 36,000 students. FCS is the comprehensive body of skills, research and knowledge that helps people make informed decisions about their wellbeing, relationships and provides resources to achieve optimal quality of life. The field represents many areas, including human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel and consumer issues. They also sponsor the student organization; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, who complete a multitude of community service activities. ABOVE: Mrs. Debbie Anders is the Family and Consumer Science Teacher/Educator and Family, Career and Community Leaders Adviser at Estill County High School.
