NIPER S.A.S. Nagar has carried out laboratory scale development of a

few formulations whether on their own or as sponsored projects from the

industry. Subsequently, the formulations were scaled up and

commercialized by the pharmaceutical industry. A few illustrative

instances are provided below:

Challenges being faced

• Shortage of faculty: Maintenance of optimal faculty-student

ratio.

• Release of funds under XII Plan approved by SFC.

- Approved: Rs. 249.455 cr

- Released: Rs. 9.79 cr only

• Urgent requirements:

(a) Replacement of old research equipment

(b) Creation of infrastructure like lecture halls, laboratories, etc.

(c) Maintenance of campus

• Short of Non-Plan funds every year

• Non-recognition of M.S. (Pharm.) degree by UGC has put

the career of many students at stake.
