Planners
This year the children have been provided with a planner
that will mainly be used a reading record. Children are
expected to be heard read at home at least 3 times a
week. We ask that you write a short comment in their
reading record every time they read.
We appreciate as they get older, they may read
independently but we ask that they tell you a little about
what they’re reading and that you write a comment on
that eg: ‘Jenny told me that the main character Matilda
had just found out she had magical powers.’
We do have set PE days each week, however if we are unable to complete outdoor PE
on the specific day we may move it to another time. Please ensure your child has the
correct PE kit in a named bag.
Children are expected to bring in their PE on a Monday and take it home on a Friday.
We have PE on Thursdays & Fridays.
Indoor: Navy shorts with school light blue PE Shirt
Outdoor: As indoor, together with a change of socks, trainers
In winter, the children may well become cold, wet and muddy. A complete change of
clothing is essential. Plain navy or black tracksuits and jumpers. (without obvious
logos) may be worn in cold weather.
Home Learning
English homework is that children should read at home at least 3 times a week.
Maths will be set on a fortnightly basis and will be in a worksheet format. We expect the children to bring in their maths homework books every second
week so we can check that they are completing the work.
Topic homework is set at the beginning of the term with a range of activities for the children to complete, they do not need to be completed in any
particular order but we ask that there is evidence of each activity in their home learning books.
*If your children are finding homework tricky please encourage them to speak to us and we can help them*
