Sermon Crumbs Today’s text in Hebrews quotes Psalm 40. If you look at that psalm, you might be surprised that it reads quite differently from the Hebrews citation. That’s because the writer of Hebrews is quoting, as NT authors often do, the Greek translation of the psalm. Both the OT original and the Hebrews use of it are in line with other OT texts stating that God cares more about heart obedience than outward ritual – see 1 Samuels 15:22; Jeremiah 7:21-23; and Hosea 6:6, for example.

Gradual Return to Normal Ministry CCC leaders care about your health, but trust people to exercise individual responsibility. Hand sanitizer and face coverings are available. “Socially distant” seating is available in the side sections and balcony (center sections on the main floor are “standard” seating, for folks who don’t mind sitting closer together). Some of us wear masks, some don’t – without looking down on each other for making a different choice. If you’re sick, stay home. If you’re in one of the more vulnerable categories, we encourage you to stay connected on line.

CCC's 125th Celebration - A Walk through the Decades in Photos We are looking for photos to use for our church's big celebration in February 2021. We'd like to include photos from every decade and we are especially looking for pictures from the 1950s, '60s, '70s and '80s.

Now is a good time to start looking through photos and bringing them to the church office. Your photos will be scanned and they'll be ready for pick up one week later. Disclaimer: We may or may not use all the photos we receive. We won't know how many we'll need until we assemble them. But we'd like to include as many different ones as possible. Deck the CCC Halls Monday, November 23, 9:00am. Join us as we decorate the sanctuary and lobby for Christmas. Coffee, donuts, time spent with CCC friends will make for a festive and merry time.

Give Thanks With Us This Thanksgiving Join us for a free breakfast at 8 AM Thanksgiving morning and stay from 9-10 for a time of worship, prayer, and praise for all that God has done for us in 2020. If you’ve never joined us for the Thanksgiving service before, give it a try this year. It is always a beautiful time of reflection together.

Cory's Project 9th Annual Event Let's fill Children's Hospital with support and love during the holiday season. We love our communities who make this happen for Cory's Project. Let's show God's love to them. Drop off your donations at the Inn on Sheridan in Zion on Saturday, December 5 from 9:00-12:00 noon. Bible Study Wednesday nights at 7:00pm, the men meet in the Parlor for Bible Study. Various topics are covered, usually with a video and popcorn. Come join the fellowship.

Senior High Small Group Bible Studies - There’s Still Room These single gender groups began on October 13th, but sign-ups are still open. We have guys' and girls' groups on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights (7-8:30 pm). This year’s study will begin in the book of Romans as we see how the gospel moves us from guilt to glory. Contact Pastor Leo to sign up.

Why Are Our Youth Groups Meeting Live? We desire to provide for the complete health of our youth as we consider the current health crises of Covid-19, loneliness, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. Some basic precautions will be in place and we respect every family’s decision as to what is best for them. Please note that any student exhibiting potential Covid-19 symptoms should remain home. A Word On Security Please note that youth ministry supervision begins 15 minutes prior to each youth event and lasts until the last student is picked up. We ask that parents not drop off their students more than 15 minutes prior to an event, as they will be unsupervised.
