WelcomeDear Friends,

It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you to the first City Learning Trust Awards’ Evening.

Tonight we celebrate the talent, hard work, efforts and achievements of pupils from across our family of schools, whilst not forgetting the commitment of parents, family, staff and governors who work hard to support children so that they can become the very best that they can be.

The City Learning Trust has grown quickly over the last year and this evening we welcome a number of other schools who have joined the founding members of Haywood Academy, Mill Hill Primary Academy and Smallthorne Primary School. A particularly warm welcome goes to our new member schools, Holden Lane Primary and Hillside Primary.

As a group of schools, we work very closely together, unified by our values and our vision for a world-class education experience for children within our group of schools. We believe that with your support and by working together, we will open up opportunities for our young people that will help to transform their futures. We are already well on our way to achieving this vision and we plan to write to you in the new academic year to keep you informed of our progress. I know all of you tonight will be proud of the talents and achievements of all of our young people. They continually inspire, motivate and challenge us to be better. This evening recognises students who have shown commitment, determination and excellence in their studies and in their contributions to the life of their school or community. I hope that the students who receive awards this evening will continue to strive for success, seize the opportunities they are offered, and achieve their dreams. They are fantastic role models and they should be very proud of themselves. I offer my warmest congratulations to them all.
