Accreditation

• Our BSc (Hons) Environmental Science programme is accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES).

• The course will put you in a great position to gain industry experience and subsequently achieve professional Environmental Scientist status.

• Students enrolled on the BSc Environmental Science programme can apply for free Student Membership of the Institution.

Holding a professional accreditation is a bit like having a ‘stamp of approval’ from an industry standard independent body.

The IES seeks to lead debate, dissemination and promotion of environmental science and sustainability. We are devoted to championing the crucial role of environmental science in ensuring the well-being of humanity now, and in the future.*

What does IES mean for you?

• Our courses are modular

• Each module is usually 20 credits

• You’ll study six modules per year

• Each module has two hours contact time per module per week

• Each module requires approximately 5 – 6 hours study per week.

Course structure.

A multi-disciplinary course designed to provide you with a holistic approach to current environmental topics, such pollution, both aquatic and in terms of contaminated land, climate change, biodiversity, wastes resource management.

During this degree programme we will introduce you to different environmental systems and processes and investigate the varying changes and impact that we and climate change are having on our environment. We will also investigate ways in which we can minimise our impact and potentially mitigate some of these problems.
