Introducing Personal Responsibility

Gordon Brown on the NHS

• Spending has tripled since 1997 to £100bn• The NHS is conquering

– infectious disease – acute medical and surgical illness – cancer

• Add-in better– nutrition, housing and education

• Many of the health and social issues are resolved• There are twice as many over 65s than in 1948.

Gordon Brown on the NHS

• Lifestyle is now emerging as a major challenge.

– 15 million now suffer from Long Term Conditions

– 900,000 with the after effects of stroke.

– 60% of the UK will be obese by 2050

– Smoking and alcohol remain significant health risks

– Hundreds of thousands will suffer from diabetes and hypertension leading to stroke, CVD and cancer.

Gordon Brown on the NHS

• The NHS will need to adapt to this growing challenge of care for an ageing population.

• Although the NHS will remain free for all –

• Personal responsibility will influence the care you receive.

Your Health Depends Upon

• Your Postcode– Housing, wealth, education, access to services

• Your Lifestyle– Obesity, drugs, alcohol, exercise

• Luck– Accidents happen

• Genetics– Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, etc

“Because of Desktop Deployment planning Services, we were able to collaborate closely with the customer to identify specific areas of pain. Utilizing the DDPS program, we showcased our own knowledge while focusing on their specific problems. Working one-on-one with the customer through DDPS built confidence both in Planet Technologies as a partner and in Microsoft’s deployment approach. This has already led to new “add-on” business with this customer for Planet Technologies.”

Steve Winter, Vice President, Planet Technologies

CompuCom utilized Microsoft Desktop Deployment Planning Services (DDPS) and Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) to demonstrate to a major U.S. telecommunications company how they can reduce technician touch time to 1/3 of the time previously spent and save an estimated $2.2 million over the course of a two-year deployment of 60,000 Machines.
