Military Child Education Coalition [MCEC] Training CNIC has granted Navy Region Japan 3 MCEC trainings.
Contract includes: lodging, transportation, meals during trainings, materials
1. Supporting Children through School Transitions: Foundations 50 Participants: guidance counselors, administrators, (teachers), community
2. Student 2 Student trains students and S2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of high school.
3. Junior Student 2 Student trains students and JS2S sponsors in supporting students as they transition in or out of middle school.

Bus Safe Havens- Concern was raised by DoDEA transportation regarding lack of identifiable safe havens for students out in town while on buses should there be an earthquake or other catastrophic event. Mr. Lindaman the CFAY Emergency Management Specialist has worked with local officials to identify approved havens. Tacit agreement in place. Requirement now for RADM Kraft’s approval.

1. School Maintenance: Mold and maintenance issue are being addressed.
2. Technology: Technology continues to be an issue. Computers and networks are slow. There is no ability to use much more efficient devices. Storage can only be done on the network or CD.
