• The Outreach Collection in August will be for Aurora, Inc.
Aurora’s mission is striving to end and creating solutions to prevent home-lessness in our community. “Everyone has value and needs a safe, decent
affordable place to call home.”
• Corpus Christi Choir
The adult choir is looking for new members. If you can sing on pitch, can commit to rehearsing on Thursday nights and singing a couple times a month at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, we would love to have you in the choir. Reading music is helpful. Please contact Diane Sammet at 812-455-6303.
Rehearsals begin mid-August.
• St. Vincent de Paul Society - Corpus Christi Conference
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vin-cent de Paul. Our conference here at Corpus Christi provides many services to our parishioners and others in need. Please pray for the mission of St. Vincent de Paul and consider joining the Corpus Christi Conference. For more information, please contact Cindy Masterson at 812-499-5530 or Pauline Bartek at 812-963-1927. Please pick up a flyer in the Narthax to learn about their services over the past year and learn of the other mem-
bers in the conference.
• House of Discernment Summer Recap
After three residents at the Father Deydier House of Discernment moved out in May 2019, diocesan seminarian Garrett Braun joined newly-accepted diocesan seminarian Clint Johnson at the House for the summer. Clint was one of the first group to move into the House in August 2018 and is the first seminarian who has come from the program. Glory be to God! Clint will join Garrett and the other seminarians at Saint Meinrad this fall. Garrett lived at the House while performing hospital ministry at Deaconess
as part of his "Clinical Pastoral Education" through Saint Meinrad.
In June, a bus of middle school and high school guys (and some of their dads) joined some diocesan seminarians for a pilgrimage to Vincennes to visit the tomb of Servant of God, Bishop Simon Bruté. It was the 180th anniversary of the death of our first bishop, and the trip was made as part of the teenage gathering called "Savio Night". Mass and praying at the tomb preceded a pool party for the guys back in Evansville. "Savio Nights" for boys age 13-18 will begin again this fall. Contact House Director, Fr.
Tyler Tenbarge ([email protected]), for more information.
Two men have already been accepted to live at the House to discern their vocations for the 2019-20 year. Several others have expressed interest, and applications can be made any time. If you know of a young man (18-30) who might benefit from a Catholic community of prayer and fraternity
while continuing his career or college, please have him contact Fr. Tyler.
If you would like to support the House by your prayers, please join House residents on Monday Nights at Sacred Heart Church. Adoration is at 6:30pm, and Mass is at 7:30pm. If you would like to support the work of
the House financially, please contact Fr. Tyler, as well.
