COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND SHUT-IN
Temporarily suspended due to Covid-19.
GUIDELINES FOR CELEBRATING MASS Mass schedule – all Masses will be at St. Denis
Weekdays at 8:00 a.m. (Monday through Friday) Weekends: 5:00 p.m. (Saturday), 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m .
NOTE: Using only St. Denis with the largest seating capacity and containing the cleanup to one location eliminates the potential for spreading the virus. The Archbishop’s guidelines also advise that we consider the health of the priest. He goes on to say: those who wish to participate in Mass and receive Holy Communion can do so by attending any Mass any day of the week.
Catholics of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati continue to be dispensed from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass.
Those who are at risk or fearful of becoming sick are encouraged to stay home and join the church by viewing live-streamed Masses.
Only the main entrance doors and the elevator will be unlocked. Everyone is to enter through one of these means.
Social distancing and regulations put forth by public health authorities must be observed.
Every other pew will be used. Please do not sit in the pews marked off with rope.
No physical contact permitted at the sign of peace or Our Father.
Masks are encouraged but not required.
Weekday Mass attendees are asked to use the center section of the church.
Ushers will help seat people.
Receiving Communion. a. No Blood of Christ will be distributed to the assembly. b. No Communion on the tongue. c. If you wear a mask, please remove it and put Communion in your mouth before leaving the presence of the priest. d. No lay Extraordinary Ministers of Communion will be used at this time.
Exposition, Adoration, Benediction and Evening prayer will resume the usual Thursday schedule.
Rosary will resume before weekday and weekend Masses.
Confessions will resume regular schedule in confessional. Behind the screen (anonymous) is the only option. No Confessions at Immaculate Conception.
RCIA: Hopefully, we will be able to conduct a process for those interested in the Catholic Church in the fall. Please contact the office or email [email protected] for more information and a starting date.
SERVERS: If there is interest and the COVID-19 stays under control for our area, we will host a picnic for ALL servers (Youth and adults) on July 26 at St. Teresa, Covington beginning at 12:30 p.m. Invitations to youth servers went out this past week. Please RSVP as soon as you can so we can adequately plan. Everyone had a great time last year.

WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE WILL FIND IT In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus is teaching His apostles and He tells them, “Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” If we were one of the apostles and heard Jesus say those words so long ago, I wonder what our reaction would have been? Our current culture is constantly calling us to find ourselves in the sense of what we think we should be or what we think that will make us happy. It is our human nature to accept this way of thinking in that we can deny the value of suffering and sacrifice, and make decisions based on selfishness instead of moral values and selfless service to others. In reality, Jesus’ wise teaching applies more than ever today. Finding our will in life leads to the emptiness of a self-indulgent lifestyle. For it is in self denial and sacrifice that life becomes rewarding and rich in meaning. When we give our life to Jesus and essentially lose it, it is then that we discover God’s will for our lives and find ourselves. Many things in life are challenging. Being a disciplined, responsible, and loving person is oftentimes hard to do. Embracing this challenge leads to right living in God’s grace. Help us Lord to always look to You for direction in our lives, living Your will and experiencing the joyful fulfillment that losing our lives for the sake of Jesus brings.

Lay Catholic Studies Opportunities: The Holy Father calls us to be “Missionary Disciples” for the world. Mount St. Mary’s School of Theology, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, helps lay Catholics prepare for this great task through theological coursework, spiritual growth, and pastoral formation. Take a class for credit or audit, work toward a degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology or Biblical Studies, or earn a Certificate in Ministry. Daytime, weeknight and Saturday classes begin August 19th. Classes are designed for busy adults, and help you grow in wisdom while preparing for new opportunities. Class locations for 2020-21 include Cincinnati and Vandalia. Call 513-231-1200 for information.
CEMETERY PRICE INCREASE As of July 1, 2020, the cost of a grave at Holy Family and St. Valbert will go up to $400.00. The cemetery committee made this recommendation at their June meeting. That price is in line with
other Catholic cemeteries in our area. To purchase a grave, contact Keith Didier (St. Valbert) or Melvin Stucke (Holy Family).
YOUTH MINISTRYYouth Choir: We are going to follow the regular schedule with the youth choir leading music the first and third Sunday of the month at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Students are welcome to come up and sing, however, we will be spacing ourselves out in the choir loft according to the Archdiocesan guidelines.
Summer Bible Study for Youth: We will begin a Summer Bible Study for youth which will last six weeks. All high school students and any young adults are welcome. The remaining dates for the six-week Bible Study are: June 29 and July 6, 13, and 20. They will all be in the St. Denis Church basement and will start at 7:00 p.m. The next session will be Monday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m.
High School Youth Leaders Meeting: The next High School Youth Leaders Meeting will be Wednesday, July 8, 7:00 p.m., in the St. Denis Church basement. All high school youth leaders need to attend.
Pray for an end to the Virus and
