Welcome to the 17thYork Open StudiosWe are delighted to introduce you to our biggestever event with more than 120 artists and makersinviting you into their studios and workshops. Overthe course of two weekends you will be able to seeour artists’ work, talk to them about their processesand maybe choose a piece to take home. Manyartists offer demonstrations so you can watch theirwork being created; look for the symbol in thefollowing pages.

Our venues range from garden sheds to historiclandmarks, but in each one you will find the makersthemselves ready to welcome you and show youtheir work in person. Where an artist is showing intheir own work place you will find their directoryentry is marked with .

Those taking part have been carefully selected by anindependent panel to make sure you are shownwork of the highest quality. This year our line-upincludes four student entries representing YorkCollege and once again we are excited to have twomulti-media bursary artists.

You can get a taste of what is to come at our LaunchEvent (see details on the right) which gives you thechance to see examples of work by many of ourartists before the studios open.
