Please, please, please!! If you can serve by being an usher/greeter, liturgist or nursery helper, sign-up sheets are in Fellowship Hall.

Easter Flower Order Forms are available in Fellowship Hall. Orders are due to the church by today! Choose from Lilies, Tulips, Daffodils or Hyacinths, $10 each, or Hydrangeas and Azaleas, $17.50 each.

Women’s Bible Study with Jolene Rogala started Wednesday, March 26th, 7:00 pm at Jolene’s home. The book they are reading is “Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World” by Joanna Weaver. If you are interested, please call Jolene at 231-818-5743.

SARM Annual Swiss Steak Dinner will be held at Audie’s Restaurant, Thursday, April 10th, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the SARM Mission Trip in June. For tickets, please contact

Kristi Laninga at 597-0353. Tickets are $10.00 each.

In the Coming Weeks:

Lunch with the Easter Bunny – Saturday, April 12th from 11am – 1pm. There will be a “Cake Walk” again this year. It has been in the past, the highlight of the lunch! If you could bake a good cake, cupcakes, or fancy cookies we could use the donations. Thank you, Anne Vieau 436-7482.

Maundy Thursday Service will be held at Church of the Straits on Thursday, April 17st at 6:00 p.m. There will be a ‘soup bowl’ gathering (not a dinner) and communion will be served. Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall if you plan to attend so we have enough soup for all. We also need 4 people to make a crock-pot of soup. Chicken & Rice, Chicken Noodle, Vegetarian and Bean or Lentil, thanks.

April 18th, Good Friday, services will be held at St. Anthony’s, 1:00 p.m. The Church of the Straits will be open from 3-7 p.m. for prayer and quiet reflection.

Easter Breakfast – come for breakfast and fellowship at 9 a.m. on Easter morning. Bring a dish to pass. Sign-up sheet is in Fellowship Hall, or contact Debbie Moore at 436-5141.

New Member Class – all those interested in becoming a member of The Church of the Straits are encouraged to participate in a new member class on May 4 and 11 at 9:30am (during the Sunday school hour). You can join the class whether you become a member or not. If you are just interested in the unique nature of this congregation you are welcome to join us. Also, those who want to retain membership at another church have the option of also becoming associate members at this church. Questions, call the church office or Pastor Dave!  Pastor Dave can meet one-on-one if you are unable to attend on the scheduled dates.  A sign-up sheet will be in the fellowship hall.

Presbyterian Women Spring Gathering here at COS! Saturday, April 26th. “Coming in from the Cold; Gaining Strength to Serve” Chris Wolf, Leader. Registration at 9 am, the program runs from 9:30am – 3pm. Cost is only $7 (includes lunch) due by Friday, April 18. Registration forms on bulletin board. Guest Speaker: Melissa Gabbard It’s a pleasant time of fellowship & good information.

The Memorial Service for Tom Limberg will be Friday, April 11th. Visitation at 10am followed by the service at 11am. There will be a luncheon after the service. Please contact Florence Tracy if you can assist with food, 436-8766.
