Check your child into Sunday School at the Express Check-in (located in front of the Nursery) between 8:10-8:30 a.m. and 9:30-9:55 a.m. During both services, children will be dismissed to Sunday School and their teachers will walk them to class. You may pick them up in their classrooms after the service. Restrooms with diaper changing stations are located in the lobby, across from the nursery. Exiting from the Sanctuary, turn left; exiting the Worship Center, turn right. Need information? Try the Information Center in the Lobby between worship services. It’s a great place to get information or find out about current activities. In the back of the chairs you will find Prayer cards for your prayer requests and Communication cards (one per family) to register your worship attendance and note any contact information changes, including new e-mail addresses. Prayer cards will be collected by the ushers during the first song. Communication cards may be placed in the offering plate as it is passed. A friendly reminder to all, please silence all devices. HIS Ministry Angel Tree We still have quite a few Angels that need to be adopted through the St. John’s Angel Tree Program. St. John’s Valley of Faith
also has an Angel Tree Program to help needy children in Arvin. Visit the HIS Kiosk for more information and to pick up your Angel names. If you haven’t brought your Angel gift back or are taking one today, the last day to return them is Friday, December 21. Sign up to help sort gifts on Friday, December 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Event Center. We are looking for people to help deliver the gifts on Saturday, December 22 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Questions, contact Deb Wood, 472-2443.
Bethesda Home Special Needs Adults
Help make the Christmas of adults in Bethesda Home special by selecting one of the residents at Bethesda, who are Lutherans, by purchasing gifts for them. Names will be available every Sunday at the Missions Kiosk. Questions, contact Robin Willis, 281-7066.

Bakersfield Homeless Shelter “Fill the Sleigh” Donations are due today! Help make
Christmas special for the homeless chil-dren in our community. Donate a new, unwrapped toy and place it in the sleigh located in the Worship Center lobby. Questions, contact the church office, 665-7815.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Services Stories of Christmas Traditional service at
4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary and Modern service in the Worship Center simultaneously. We are also offering an 11:00 p.m. service in the Sanctuary with Communion.
Stories of Christmas Join us Sunday mornings as we revisit some of
the most familiar stories of Christmas, from Rudolph to Ralphie, from Charlie Brown to the Grinch, to point us once again to the greatest story ever told.
The flowers are given this morning by Patti Leiblie and Joyce Milburn in celebration of Brianna Leiblie’s 20th birthday.

mail checks on or by December 31, 2018, in order to claim a charitable contribution deduction for 2018. Checks that are placed in the church offering on the first Sunday of 2019 will not qualify for a charitable contribution deduction in 2018, even if the check is pre-dated to 2018 or was actually written in 2018. However, checks that are written, mailed and post-marked in 2018 will be deductible in 2018 though they are not received by a church until 2019.”

This person will promote and expand a systematic approach to discipleship, from the first visit to active membership, in order to further the vision of our congregation.
