Components, our products or policies, we offer a number of
different ways to contact us:
Practical Components, Inc.15211 Springdale StreetHuntington Beach, CA 92649Tel: 1-714-899-8309Fax: [email protected]
What are dummy components?Dummy components are the exact mechanical equivalent of
functional electronic components.
Why use dummy components?Dummies save money. In cases where only mechanical character-
istics are required, dummy components can be used instead of
live functioning components. Because there is not an expensive
die inside the package, the cost for performing mechanical testing
is significantly lower.
Who is Practical Components?A team of dedicated electronic industry professionals makes up
Practical Components, offering value pricing, on-time delivery, and
superior service to customers. The Practical Components team is
ready to provide project assistance in the areas of technical
component knowledge, drawings, component land patterns, and
PCB practice kits.
What is a PCB Practice Kit?Combining both the PCB Practice Board and dummy components
allows customers to conduct assembly process evaluation without
using high-cost live components and functional PC Boards. Kits
are available in a single pack, for employee hand soldering
training, or packaged for production equipment evaluation. Both
XY Theta data and Gerber data are available without charge.

BGA Test Board
Variable Pitch and Array Board
Mix and match components to configure your custom kit.Practical Components is now offering a “one-of-a-kind” BGA
Variable Pitch and Array PC Board. Each board contains matrices
for the most popular ball pitches found on BGAs and CSPs. The
use of full matrices allows maximum flexibility for placing parts
with full, staggered, or perimeter configurations. Each board has a
mixture of even and odd matrices to enable placement, using
automatic equipment, of the highest ball counts available.

TV–188M DAISY CHAIN TEST BOARD
Not to scaleThe TB–188 test board has 10 daisy-chain test sites on one side,
and 10 bias/SIR test sites on the other, for use with the TV–188M
µBGA daisy-chain test package on both sides. The two sides are
laid out so as to use the same solder stencil aligned to three
global fiducial.
The test board is not perforated for snap-apart, but it is
designed so it can be cut into testable 5–up or 1–up coupons. The
drilled holes are for hard wiring with solder for in-situ testing at the
panel or coupon level (no plated through-holes).
Notes Board is made with nickel/gold solder-
pad finish.
Actual size of board is 2.75" x 6.5".
Order Number: TB188

ESD SAFE
Model 383-AS ESD SAFEFor electronics and clean room environments. The model 383-AS Anti Static Mag-Eyes has all the advanced
features of the model 383, but is specifically designed for work
areas where Electro Static Discharge is to be avoided or when
clean room standards must be met. To comply with these
requirements, the 383-AS is molded from solid-state semi-
conductive material chemically bonded into polymer matrix and
has these qualities:
 Color: black
 Surface resistivity—“Static Dissipative” range: 106–109 ohms/sq.
Static protection is independent of humidity from 0% to 100%.
Static resistivity and static decay rate are unaffected by
temperature.
Static protection is maintained throughout entire life of material.
 Tribo-electric charging < 20 v.
Contains no amine or amide based volatile additives and will
not contaminate component surfaces.
Clean room compatible, no sloughing—the particle counts are
substantially below those limits set for Class 10 clean rooms.
Meets stringent German standards for recyclability.

Desoldering Braid
No-Clean WickProtective Vacuum Packaging
Tips For Selecting The Right Wick
Important Considerations Amount of solder involved
 Size of pad or connection
 Desired speed of operation
 Operating temperature
Suggestions Use a wick equal in diameter to pad and
tip size.
Use a slightly larger diameter wick if cut
at an angle.
Use a smaller diameter wick if folded.
Cautions If the wick size is too large, it will restrict
heat transfers to the connection and
result in reduced wicking action.
If the wick size is too narrow, it will
require numerous applications to
effectively desolder joint, subjecting the
component and pad to unnecessary
prolonged heat.

TechPump Bottles: 1980, 1982, 1981
TechPump BottlesTechPump Bottles are designed for precision control and dispens-
ing of solvents in electronic and laboratory environments. The
distinctive pumping mechanism combined with a high density
polyethylene (HDPE) bottle makes a complete unit, ready for use
with a broad range of cleaning solvents. The dish-type pump
dispenser allows for a clean, one-handed operation, which
prevents the use of excessive solvent, and keeps contaminants
from entering the container.
The pump includes a hinged lid to keep out impurities while
the container is not in use, and stainless steel parts to facilitate the
use of aggressive solvents. Precision valve seals contents to reduce
vapor and product loss. To insure total purity, the unit is shipped
with a cellon band sealing the pump head.
