Our day has 7 periods, which includes 6 periods of academic classes and 1 period of
lunch.
Students will be assigned a locker with a built-in combination lock.
During class time, students in the hall must have passes.
Classes All of Our Students Must Take:

English 7Honors English 7 -- must meet requirements(Selected based on an English screener)
English 8Honors English 8 -- must meet requirements(A- or better in Eng 7 or B in Honors Eng.)

The following classes are taken for one semester.
Introduction to Biomedical Science Through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) (1 semester)
- No h.s.credit
In this course students will investigate how the history of medicine has changed how we deal with illness in the 21st century. Students will focus on infectious disease and how the science of forensics, through the use of medicine, has improved criminal investigations. This is a hands-on course.
Theatre 1 Grade 7/8 (.50 h.s credit)
Integrated Technology Choices
Introduction to Communication, Graphic Arts & Photography Grade 7/8 (.50 h.s credit)
Introduction to Engineering Technology Grade 7/8 (.50 h.s credit)
High School Credit Classes
Students signing up for a class with a h.s. credit option will automatically receive credit for the class.
If your child does not wish to take the class for h.s. credit and have the grade credited to their h.s. transcript they must notify the School Counselor in writing no later than the deadlines indicated in the following slide.
For semester classes this notification must be made within 10 days of receipt of the report card for the first 9 weeks of the class.
For year-long classes this notification must be made within 10 days of receipt of the report card at the end of the first semester.
SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL NOT BE MADE IN AUGUST UNLESS THE REASON FOR THE
REQUEST MEETS THE CRITERIA SET FORTH BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION.
PLEASE CAREFULLY DISCUSS AND REVIEW THE REGISTRATION MATERIALS WITH YOUR
CHILD BEFORE SUBMITTING THE FORM.
* PLEASE TURN THE COURSE REQUEST SHEET IN TO YOUR CHILD’S 1ST PERIOD TEACHER NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, 3/18/11.
*Forms completed and turned in on time will be given 1st preference for elective choices.
*All students are expected to fill in all of the elective alternative blanks. Failure to do so will result in being assigned alternative electives without the student’s input or ability to change.
* We are not able to accommodate individual requests for specific teachers.
Athletics at the Junior High
Refer to the building website for dates on Mandatory Fall Sports Athletic Rules meetings.
All Fall Athletes and their parents must be present.
A physical is required for all sport try-outs.Blank Ohio High School Athletic Association Physical forms
