Readers For Home

• READING PRACTICE• Each week your child will bring home a paper book that we have

read at school. Your child should be able to tell you what the book is about and "read" it to you even if they aren't looking at the words.

• Please take the time to practice these books each week and revisit them often.

• You can model reading by pointing to the words and discussing how the pictures help readers gather information about the book.

• Keep the books in a gallon Ziploc bag for easy storage.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the attendance office at 832-484-5505 that morning. Send in a doctor’s note and/or parent letter when they return. A child may earn a Perfect Attendance certificate if they have been at school everyday during a nine weeks period. If a student has four or more tardies and/or early dismissals in a nine week period, their conduct grade will be lowered with the exception of having a doctor’s note. Therefore, they will be not be in the running for the Golden Horseshoe Award or the Principal’s Proud Club for that nine week period. Also, a student will be asked to serve detention on the eighth tardy. Please help your child to arrive on time to school.
