End of the Year. The end of 2015 is fast approaching. Would you like to give a tax deductible gift to Kankakee First Church? The IRS indicates the gift needs to be in the church office before it closes at noon, December 31, or it can be sent through the mail if it is postmarked by Dec. 31, 2015. Our Nursery & Early Childhood Ministry will be giving their special Christmas presentation. Wednesday, December 9 Children 1st-6th grade will be caroling at ManorCare Nursing Home. We will need parent drivers. Please call Pastor Debbie by December 7 if you are able to help. Christmas Musical Selection Children, 1st – 6th grade, and youth are invited to join in a special Christmas musical selection on Sunday, December 20 in the 10:30 am service. Rehearsals for this selection will be - Friday, December 11, 6 – 7:30 pm for music and a special “Cookie Bake” (bring a Christmas plate from home) - Sunday, December 13, during Children’s’ worship - Wednesday, December 16, 6:00— 6:30 p.m. before Generational Communion Service - Sunday Dec 20th, 9:45 a.m. on the platform. You’ll find the selection on YouTube, look for Hillsong Born is the King- Lyrics Video. Please have your children listen and learn as much as they can before the rehearsal on December 11. Giving to Others. The “Giving Tree” is up in the children’s Commons area. Tags are on the tree with items that are needed at Manor Care for the resident’s Christmas. Please help your child learn more about giving to others by taking a tag, purchasing the item listed on the tag, and returning the item no later than Dec 20 th . RECHARGE 2016—Winter Retreat $25 deposit is due Sunday, Dec. 13. If you are going to Forge Flint , the $80 deposit is due by Christmas. Contact Pastor Brandon for more information. Senior Day in Chicago Saturday, December 19 The Day in Chicago is an annual high school tradition. We'll take the train downtown to have lunch, shop, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas season in the city! Cost is $10 to attend and you should bring money for your lunch. We'll meet at the church at 9:30 am and ride up to the station together. We will plan to return around 7:00 pm Christmas House Walk Thursday, December 17 Time to go see decorated Christmas homes, sing along to carols and just enjoy being together...So think about it, how about opening your home? After the meal, Viola Sultan will lead us in singing some Christmas carols, accompanied by Florence Burghorn on the piano. The Prime Time ministry will be supplying the main course and dessert.
