SCIENCE INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK(AKA: the INB)

“Your Key To Success in Science”

=Presented byJerry Willard

Page 18: Welcome to Mr. Willard’s Classroom!

Have you ever heard yourself say?...

Page 19: Welcome to Mr. Willard’s Classroom!

Your INB is the ANSWER!!!

Page 20: Welcome to Mr. Willard’s Classroom!

What is an INB?The purpose of your interactive notebook (INB) is

to collect, record, and organize your science information in a creative way, all while creating a PERSONALIZED DIARY of your science learning.

This notebook is designed to use both your right and left-brain hemispheres to help you SORT, CATEGORIZE, REMEMBER, and creatively interact with the new knowledge you are gaining.

Your INB will also serve as a great tool to help you stay ORGANIZED.

The best part is that it gives you permission to be playful and CREATIVE in your responses without "messing up" your notes.

Allows you be like a REAL SCIENTIST!

• Your name: (self explanatory)• The class period that you have

science:– Ex. Period 1

• Your teacher: Mr. Willard • The school year: 2014-2015• TWO OR MORE SCIENCE PICTURES:

Author PageYou will create your author’s page on the inside of the front cover

of your INB. It should be neat and creative!

1. Choose one word from the IB Learner Profile Pillar that describes you.

2. Choose two more words from the IB Learner Profile Pillar that describe traits that you would like to work on for the year.

3. A picture of you.

4. Include pictures of things that describe you (such as your hobbies, favorite sports, or other interests).

What your author page might look

like…

Page 33: Welcome to Mr. Willard’s Classroom!

Get Started! Now that you have the instructions of what to do, begin designing you cover page and author page. You will turn them in at the end of class and I will pass them back out to you when we

meet again. Remember to bring your notebook and all other materials

tomorrow as we will put it all together!

Page 34: Welcome to Mr. Willard’s Classroom!

Starting with the 1st page, number the first 50 pages. The 1st page is 0 (zero) – EVEN numbers will

always be on the RIGHT and ODD numbers on the LEFT. Number at the TOP OUTSIDE CORNER of

every page.
