introduction
Heritage Lab in the Kulliyyah of Architecture and EnvironmentalDesign, International Islamic University Malaysia was established sincethe Department of Architecture started to run the AAR 3302 HeritageStudies course in the year 2000.
Heritage Studies is one of the core courses for the Bachelor of Science inArchitectural Studies programme. Under the course, students and staff hadtravelled the world from as far as Egypt to China and throughout theMalay archipelago to document heritage buildings that are historicalarchitecturally significant to the spread of Islam.
missionOur main mission is to become a Centre ofExcellence for the Islamic ArchitecturalHeritage with state of the art facilities forthe benefit of the ummah.

collections
Currently, Heritage Lab had archived documentationof 77 heritage buildings in ten countries whichinclude Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Iran,Syria, India, Bangladesh, China and India.
The archived materials ranged from palaces,madrasahs, masjid, public buildings, dwellings andforts.
The archived materials are in the form a set ofmeasured drawings, research reports, 3D models,posters, photographs and multi-media presentations
