Haskovo is situated in the south - east of Bulgaria on the road connecting the West and the East. It is an ancient town of a thousand-year-long history.

Haskovo is located between Rodopi and Stara mountains and enjoys a pleasant climate. The

population is about 80 000 people.

The monument is 14 m high and stands on a base of 17m. A small church was built in its foundation in

2004.

The Holy Mother of God Church is the biggest in the town.

treasure the historical heritage.
