The title was “Responding in Kind,” and explained that in the world people respond to others according to how others treat them. Because of Jesus, we are enabled to obey His command to “turn the other cheek” or as He said in Luke 6:28 “Bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” This is not easy in our own flesh and energy. It is a product of a life that has been redeemed and transformed by the Holy Spirit. That means that grace and love are to characterize each of us day in and day out. This is on full display whenever you are away from the church. People treat one another exactly the way they are treated. If someone offends in traffic, then the offended returns with the same or a worse response. If a waiter or waitress doesn’t suit, then the tip is given accordingly. It can get ugly. I am reminded of the apostle Paul’s words “…but not so with you.” That is very instructive. In the church, our cheeks should constantly turn. Our treatment of one another is to always be bathed with grace and love. Even as we go out into the world, we are to testify to the grace of God in us by our love, our blessings and our prayers for those who offend or betray us. Practice this by the power of the Spirit which lives within you. It becomes an honor to love others who have no love for you. You will find it a blessing to be a blessing to the glory of God and not to your own glory. Love God! Love others! Serve! Pastor’s Message May 5, 2019

I read a wonderful article on Wednesday morning that reminded me of the difference between a church family and the world. Blessing Summer Missionaries

18 million tourists visit Myrtle Beach each year!!! So many of them have never heard the name of Jesus or don’t know Him personally. IMPACT Ministries exists to make Christ known to these tourists.

Student summer missionaries are the key to the success of IMPACT Ministries! These six students assist in leading the visiting mission teams in day camps, afternoon worship and evening ministry sites. They are provided housing, meals and a stipend for the summer.

Please join us as FBC, Camden, blesses these student summer missionaries by providing gift baskets filled with snacks for the summer along with VISA gift cards! Goal is to purchase snacks and six $100 VISA gift cards.

Please join us on Wednesday, May 8, 6:15 – 7:00 pm, in the Sanctuary as Todd Wood, Director, and Peter Copeland, Assistant Director, share with us about IMPACT ministries!

VBS—June 10-14 We are still in need of volunteers. You may sign-up in the Welcome Center or contact Stephanie to volunteer.
