Our Vision for 2015 - 2016

Homework Policy
Purpose is fourfold:
1. Extend concepts learned in the classroom.
2. Provide opportunities for independent work.
3. Strengthen concept and skill development.
4. Provide enrichment opportunities.
Homework Policy Should take no more than 60 to 75
minutes a night total. Is due on the assigned day unless
illness or excused absence. Additional time will be given.

- Trip will be November 6, 2015
- Money for lunch will be due the beginning of October ($8.50-$13.50)
*Lunch money must be paid in cash or check
Cost of Trip will be due by the end of October (price is $57 per student)
*Can be paid online this year! (3% credit card fee)
Volunteers will be charged $30 for their ticket and WILL have to drive separately
*Volunteers will be asked to pay separate from their students
We will stop at McDonald’s on our way home for dinner. Students need to bring cash for their meal ($5-$10)

Science MSA will take place this year.
Science/Health CurriculumFamily Life Unit taught in the second
semester Students are able to do alternate work if
parents choose to have them do so Parent Session will be held after winter
break to discuss content that will be taught
Reading Language: Vocabulary Reading: Informational Text Reading: Literature Students will have nightly reading assignments to
reach the grade level goal of 25 books for the school year.
Students will take PARCC in May
Writing Informative/Explanatory Narrative Opinion Process, Production, and Research Use of Language
SpecialsArt, Music, Physical Education, Media,
Instrumental Music, Chorus Art, Music, PE, and Media are once a week Chorus is on Friday mornings Instrumental Music is taught once a week for
30-40 minutes (Thursday and Friday AM) Students will have band buddies to ensure
they get materials presented in class while they were gone.
