In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be
thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive
every one that is indebted to us. And lead us
not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Luke 11: 2-4
1 Samuel Chapter 24
Saul pursues David
[1] And it came to pass, when Saul was
returned from following the Philistines, that
it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in
the wilderness of En-gedi.
[2] Then Saul took three thousand chosen
men out of all Israel, and went to seek David
and his men upon the rocks of the wild
goats.
[3] And he came to the sheepcotes by the
way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to
cover his feet:
and David and his men remained in the sides
of the cave.
[4] And the men of David said unto him,
A golden opportunity
Behold the day of which the LORD
said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver
thine enemy into thine hand, that
thou mayest do to him as it shall
seem good unto thee. Then David
arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's
robe privily.
David conscience stricken
[5] And it came to pass afterward,
that David's heart smote him,
because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
[6] And he said unto his men, The
LORD forbid that I should do this
thing unto my master, the LORD's
anointed, to stretch forth mine hand
against him, seeing he is the
anointed of the LORD.
[7] So David stayed his servants with these
words, and suffered them not to rise against
Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and
went on his way.
David shows himself to Saul
[8] David also arose afterward, and went out
of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My
lord the king. And when Saul looked behind
him, David stooped with his face to the
earth, and bowed himself.
[9] And David said to Saul, Wherefore
hearest thou men's words, saying, Behold,
David seeketh thy hurt?
[10] Behold, this day thine eyes have seen
how that the LORD had delivered thee to
day into mine hand in the cave: and some
bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee;
and I said, I will not put forth mine hand
against my lord; for he is the LORD's
anointed.
[11] Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the
skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut
off the skirt of thy robe and killed thee not,
know thou and see that there is neither evil
nor transgression in mine hand, and I have
not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my
soul to take it.
[12] The LORD judge between me and thee,
and the LORD avenge me of thee: but mine
hand shall not be upon thee.
[13] As saith the proverb of the ancients,
Wickedness proceedeth from the wicked: but
mine hand shall not be upon thee.
[14] After whom is the king of Israel come
out? after whom dost thou pursue? after a
dead dog, after a flea.
[15] The LORD therefore be judge, and
judge between me and thee, and see, and
plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine
hand.
Saul’s reaction
[16] And it came to pass, when David had
made an end of speaking these words unto
Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son
David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and
wept.
[17] And he said to David, Thou art more
righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me
good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
[18] And thou hast shewed this day how that
thou hast dealt well with me: forasmuch as
when the LORD had delivered me into thine
hand, thou killedst me not.
[19] For if a man find his enemy, will he let
him go well away? wherefore the LORD
reward thee good for that thou hast done
unto me this day.
[20] And now, behold, I know well that thou
shalt surely be king, and that the kingdom of
Israel shall be established in thine hand.
Saul’s main concern
[21] Swear now therefore unto me by the
LORD, that thou wilt not cut off my seed
after me, and that thou wilt not destroy my
name out of my father's house.
[22] And David sware unto Saul. And Saul
went home; but David and his men gat them
up unto the hold.
Psalm .7
[1] O Lord my God, in thee do I put my
trust: save me from all them that persecute
me, and deliver me:
[2] Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending
it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
[3] O LORD my God, if I have done this; if
there be iniquity in my hands;
[4] If I have rewarded evil unto him that was
at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him
that without cause is mine enemy:)
[5] Let the enemy persecute my soul, and
take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon
the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust.
Selah.
[6] Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up
thyself because of the rage of mine enemies:
and awake for me to the judgment that thou
hast commanded.
Matthew 5
[43] Ye have heard that it hath been said,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate
thine enemy.
[44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them
that hate you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you;
[45] That ye may be the children of your
Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his
sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and
sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
[46] For if ye love them which love you,
what reward have ye? do not even the
publicans the same?
[47] And if ye salute your brethren only,
what do ye more than others? do not even
the publicans so?
[48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your
Father which is in heaven is perfect.

See Him Coming
Glory and power to the one who loves us,
Honour and praise him forever;
Come Lord Jesus, come Lord Jesus.
Glory and power to the one who freed us
From all our sins by his blood;
Come Lord Jesus, come Lord Jesus.
See him coming on the clouds of heaven,
Every eye behold him now.
He’s the Living One, the first and last
Who once was dead,
But now he lives forever and ever.
Glory and power to the one who made us
A kingdom of priests for God’s service;
Come Lord Jesus, come Lord Jesus.
See him coming on the clouds of heaven,
Every eye behold him now.
He’s the Living One, the first and last
Who once was dead,
But now he lives forever and ever.
Jesus is the Living One,
Who died and came alive;
Jesus is Almighty Lord,
Who was and is to come!
Jesus is the Living One,
Who died and came alive;
Jesus is Almighty Lord,
Who was and is to come!
See him coming on the clouds of heaven,
Every eye behold him now.
He’s the Living One, the first and last
Who once was dead,
But now he lives.
See him coming on the clouds of heaven,
Every eye behold him now.
He’s the Living One, the first and last
Who once was dead,
But now he lives forever and ever.
Forever and ever.
