Reading Expectations at Home
Students will select just right reading books for home reading
Students will read for a minimum of 15 minutes each day
Students should use their “Just Right” reading spot each day
Students will record the title and author of the book they read in their Reading Log daily. Parents initial daily.
Parent Role We encourage families to read aloud
together at least once a week.
Actively participate in your child’s reading by asking them questions about what they have read.
Encourage your child to move toward independence in both reading and homework assignments.
