Accelerated Reader

• At some point in the year your child’s teacher may decide your child is ready to take Accelerated Reader (AR) tests to strengthen comprehension skills.

• Books are color coded by level of difficulty.• Students may check out a book on their

level from the media center, read it 2 times at home, and then take the test at school.

• 60% or higher is passing on an AR test.

Minimum First Grade Expectations

Master all of 1st Grade SSS Benchmarks in all core content areas taught

Mastery = 70% proficiency on 70% of the benchmarks in each subject area

Attain a grade equivalent (GE) score 2.0 GE by year’s end on Success Maker 4.

Students are expected to meet expectations on the 3 Writers Snapshots.
