Snacks/Water

We will not have snacks in the classroom.

Please make sure your child has a well balanced breakfast.

Only sport top water bottles are allowed and should be taken home each night to be properly cleaned and refilled. Please label your child’s water bottle.

Take Home Folder

This folder should come home EVERY day and be brought back to school EVERY day.

Please check it each night. Two labeled pockets inside:

Keep at Home pocket - Your child will bring home completed work or other papers that do not need to be returned to school.

Return to School pocket – Any notes you send should be placed on this side. Likewise, if there are papers that require your signature

and need to be returned, your child will place them in this pocket.

Assignment Notebook

This is our way of communicating daily.

Homework and reminders will be recorded each day.

Please initial the parent signature section each day.

This is a great place to jot me a note if you have any questions or concerns.

Reading Minutes• In lieu of a separate reading calendar, we

will use the assignment notebook for this purpose.

• For the 20 minutes of required reading each night you or your child should write • the title of the book your child read• number of minutes • parent initials next to it

• This can be any combination of:• silent reading• reading aloud to you or a sibling• read aloud

• Remember that if your child is having any transportation changes we will need a note. Also, if your child is going to a friend’s house we need a note from both parties.

Transportation

• Send a note if you require any changes in transportation home.

• If a child is going home with a friend we need notes from both parties.

• If a note is not sent, contact the office by 3:00 (not me)
