In July, the United Methodist Men are planning a hotdog and

hamburger cookout for the kids at Open Arms Ministry in

Winston-Salem. Then on Saturday, August 29 we will help

the United Methodist Women prepare and serve lunch to

about 85 people attending a Choral Workshop here at Bunker Hill. Our next

official meeting will be on Sunday, September 6 at 7:30 a.m. We wish all UMM

and our fellow BHUMC members a safe and fun summer! Emmett Ellis, UMM

CIRCLE #1 will meet again in the fall. Contact Betty Crews

CIRCLE #2 will take the summer months off and will meet

THE BLAKE IDOL CIRCLE will not be meeting during the summer. Our

next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 15. Contact Sue Perkins for more

information about the Blake Idol Circle (293-8286).

THE SUNSHINE CIRCLE will not meet during the summer. Our next

meeting will be Tuesday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. in room 207. Contact

Baskets for our graduating high school seniors are set up in the hallway by the church office. They

will be needing things like school supplies, snacks,

gas gift cards, restaurant/fast food gift cards and

other odds and ends. Please remember these

students as they prepare for their next steps.

Our sympathies are expressed today to Ann Stafford at the

recent death of her brother, Nimm Shelton. May the Lord

comfort those who mourn.

Today we recognize the recipient of the 2015-2016 Carey Scott Ellis

Scholarship. This scholarship is provided by Emmett and Jane Ellis in

honor of their son Carey. This scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 for

a rising college freshman from our membership.

UPCOMING SURVEY: Our church Vision Committee, which is

composed of David Rorie, Jeff Smith, Josh Dalton, Ashley

Marshall, Jane Ellis, Jayne Thompson, and Don Blalock, has been

working diligently for the past few months to examine the present

and possible future ministry recommendations for our

congregation. In order to assist this committee, we are asking that

you complete a ministry survey of our church. This survey will be

available to complete online on Sunday, July 19, and hard copies

will be available on Sunday, July 26.

We are asking that all surveys be completed by Sunday, August 9.

A collection box will be placed in the fellowship hall.

Please plan to take this upcoming survey as your opinions and

responses will be very valuable in helping to determine many of

the future ministry directions of Bunker Hill.

The Bunker Hill UMC Child Care is now accepting applications for a part-time

afterschool childcare worker. Hours will be Monday - Friday, 2:30 – 6:00 p.m.

Previous experienced is preferred. Applications are available outside the Child

Care room or contact Sharon Landreth at (336) 972-7555.

This year during VBS as well as at the beginning of

the school year, we will be collecting items for our

church-school connection at Forest Park Elementary!
