BIRD, is a training institute promoted by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) as

an autonomous society.

It is situated in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh , a state in Northern Part of India.

"BIRD" is a premier Institute of the Developing World offering Training, Research and Consultancy and other

related activities in the field of Agriculture and Rural Development.

It is an institute of excellence committed to :-

other stakeholders including international clientele focused on agriculture and rural development.

• Impart quality education and practical knowledge on Rural Banking to young aspiring professionals.

Lucknow , a multicultural city, situated on the banks of Gomti River, is the capital of Uttar Pradesh , a state in northern part of India. It is known as the City of Nawabs .

The city of Lucknow is believed to have been founded in the 13thcentury AD. The creator of Lucknow as it is today was Nawab-ud-Daula.

The city is also known as the centre for Urdu poetry and courtly diction and reached its acme during the reign of Wajid Ali Shah who was a connoisseur of music and poetry. It was during his reign that the British appropriated Awadh.

Today, the city is dotted with remnants of its rich historic past. Kathak, the classic Indian dance form, took shape in Lucknow. Lucknow weather is quite unpredictable and it may rain or shine brightly at the same time. The city is famous for its Chikan embroidery, a hand craft of textile decoration styles . It is the centre of arts and music.
