• Ask questions that help your child dig deeper. Ask for evidence and support from the text.

Homework
![Page 18: Welcome to Back to School Night Mrs. Antrim Mrs. Bryant.](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022062222/5697bfa81a28abf838c998ae/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
It is critical that reading practice not be seen as unimportant or easy homework. If a child
hears, “Oh you only have reading tonight, they sometimes get the impression that reading
and/or reading practice isn’t important. Telling the child instead,“How wonderful, you get to read tonight,” on the other hand, positively
reinforces the importance and value of reading. In a visual, media-oriented society, we need to be especially careful of devaluing
the act of reading itself.
On Nightly Reading…

All grade levels participate in enrichment classes as they rotate through three 35-minute sessions for a total of 26 sessions for the year.
The rotations include nutrition/garden, wellness, PE, and music. While the students participate in these enrichment classes, grade level teams meet to plan and collaborate regarding student goals, assessments, IB units, etc.
TLP is made possible by the support from the PTA and the Sage Garden Grant who fund the TLP staff. 6th grade students will participate in TLP rotations every Wednesday morning.
