HomeworkWhile we are here, we work hard and use every second of the day learning; therefore I don’t give much homework. The following should be done nightly:

•Read nightly for 15 minutes – This can be done independently or parent/child alternating reading.

•Practice Math facts for 10 minutes - addition/subtraction facts; when those facts are fluent, begin multiplication facts.

•There will be spelling homework nightly. Spelling words will be posted on my website. Spelling will start the 2nd week of school.

Spelling Homework• Pre-test will be given on Monday.

• If a student misses zero or one, they will be given a differentiated list and a menu assignment to complete.

• Otherwise, student will complete the following from the spelling book:– Monday – Independent Practice– Tuesday – Review Spelling Spree and/or Dictionary– Wednesday – Proofreading and Writing

Words for the week will be on our website. If they are completing the differentiated list, the menu will be there as well.

Homework will be due on the day of the test.

Spelling test will be given on Thursday. If we are not in school on Monday, the test and homework will be on Friday.

Thursday Folders

• Thursday folders will go home weekly with graded papers, flyers, grade level and school information.

• Please return on Friday! Your child will receive a PBR ticket for getting his/her Thursday folder signed.

Supplies

• If you have not purchased your child’s supplies please do so as soon as possible. We will be using them!!

• Backpacks need to fit into the cubbies at the back of the room. Please no backpacks with wheels!

Specials Rotation

• Specials will be on a six day rotation schedule this year, so a certain Specials class won’t be on the same day each week.

Thank you for coming!

Please visit the PTO information stations in the cafeteria before you leave.

This PowerPoint will be posted on my website.

Have a GREAT weekend and see you on Monday!
