First Order of Business• Make sure you are in the correct classroom and the correct seat.

• Complete classroom forms.

• Review Code of Student Behavior, PCHS Handbook, and English Syllabus.

Changes at PCHS• Students should buy a PCHS planner for $5.

• Students must walk down the right side of the hallways.

• Students may only visit lockers at designated periods (plan ahead). See pg. 24

• Students must walk on concrete only (not on grass or dirt).

• Shoe color is not designated this year.

• Lightweight jackets (no color specified) may be worn in class but must be unzipped or unbuttoned.

• No cell phone or device should be visible without teacher permission.

• All students will be required to verify addresses twice yearly.

• I came to Montgomery to attend ASU.

• Our classroom rules help us get along with each other:

Reading

• We will be reading informational and recreational texts. Many of our passages will have historical significance. A lot of our reading will reach beyond the scope of literature and into other subject areas.

• See Syllabus for book list.

Writing

• 9th grade will focus on writing a thesis with some citations.

• 10th grade will write an annotated bibligraphy.

• Writing will be a part of our daily class routein.

Tardiness

• Tardies will be treated like a class A offense. See Code of Student Behavior pg. 23.
