Test Center Certification• Born at the Professional Development meeting at the 2007

conference in Salt Lake City.

• The first meeting was held Feb 21, 2008 with 162 meetings to date.

• First center certified was Florida Atlantic University Sept 1, 2010

• Currently there are 75 centers certified including 1 Canadian center, 33 certified in the past year

• Currently working with 49 active applications

• The next open enrollment period will be Sept 17-24

• Certified Miami Dade College system this summer-multiple campuses certified individually

The Year in Review--General• First Major Bylaws Revision

• Based on careful review and consideration of other similar organizations and the needs of NCTA now and in the future

• Significant changes to process and structure of governance

3-year Board terms, maximum of 2 termsPresident needs at least 1 year on Board, but is not have to be sitting Board member.Individuals may serve only one term as President.President, President-Elect/Past President, and a Board of 8-16 members make up NCTA Governing Council.

Officer positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Membership Chair are elected by the Council to 1-year terms,

Council elections are overseen by a Nominating Committee that receives charge from Council Council members, including President, are elected by the general membership from a slate of nominees compiled by a Nominating Committee. Slates will be prepared so that 50% - 70% of candidates appearing on the ballot will be elected.
