The Attributes of a Faithful Servant
Joshua 14:1-15
Joshua 14:1-5
14 Now these are the territories which the sons of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the
heads of the households of the tribes of the sons of Israel apportioned to them for an inheritance, 2 by the lot of their inheritance, as the Lord commanded
through Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe.
3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond
the Jordan; but he did not give an inheritance to the Levites among them.
4 For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim, and they did not give a portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to live in, with their pasture lands for their livestock
and for their property.
5 Thus the sons of Israel did just as the Lord had commanded Moses, and they
divided the land.
2 Corinthians 10:14-16
14 For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we did not reach to you,
for we were the first to come even as far as you in the gospel of Christ; 15
not boasting beyond our measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but with the hope that as your faith grows, we will be, within our sphere, enlarged even
more by you,
16 so as to preach the gospel even to the regions beyond you, and not to boast in
what has been accomplished in the sphere of another.
Jonah 1:7 Reference
7 Each man said to his mate, “Come, let us cast lots so we may learn on whose
account this calamity has struck us.” So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.
Proverbs 16:33 Reference
33 The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the Lord.
John 14:26
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to
your remembrance all that I said to you.
Joshua 14:6-9
6 Then the sons of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the word which the Lord
spoke to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh-
barnea. 7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me
from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land,
and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart. 8 Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear; but I followed
the Lord my God fully. 9 So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the
land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God fully.’
Psalm 91:9-11
9 For you have made the Lord, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.
11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
Joshua 14:10-12
10 Now behold, the Lord has let me live, just as He spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, when Israel walked in the wilderness; and now behold, I am eighty-five years old today. 11 I am
still as strong today as I was in the day Moses sent me;
as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for war and for going out and coming in. 12 Now then, give me this
hill country about which the Lord spoke on that day, for you heard on that day that Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the Lord will be
with me, and I will drive them out as the Lord has spoken.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the
Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as
from the Lord, the Spirit.
Numbers 14:6-9
6 Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had
spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “The land which we passed through to spy out is
an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us
into this land and give it to us--
a land which flows with milk and honey. 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they will be our prey. Their protection has been removed from
them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”
James 1:2
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called
according to His purpose.
Joshua 14:13-15
13 So Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh
for an inheritance. 14 Therefore, Hebron became the inheritance of
Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite until this day, because he
followed the Lord God of Israel fully.
15 Now the name of Hebron was formerly Kiriath-arba; for Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim. Then
the land had rest from war.
Psalm 37:5
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
