About Your Teacher• Military Brat

• Graduated High School from Stanhope Elmore High School in 2004

• Graduated from Auburn University, Montgomery with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2009

• This is my 6th year teaching, but my 1st year at WMS!

• HUGE Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe fan

• New mom (3 month old daughter)

Absences• Students have three school days to bring an excuse for any absences

• Students must complete all missed work in a timely manner

• Missed work is usually placed on the Make-Up board

• Make-up work requiring teacher assistance may be worked on before school or during a portion of P.E. (with the coaches permission). Check with the teacher ahead of time to make sure she is available.

• A zero will be entered in gradebook if a student has missing work. The grade will be replaced when the work has been turned in and graded.

Tuesday Papers• Every Tuesday (unless otherwise posted)

• Parent must sign each week

• Return on Wednesday

• New papers will NOT be sent home until previous papers have been returned.

Digital Devices• Students are under the same guidelines with personal digital devices as they are

when using computers and other digital devices at school. The Technology Usage Agreement signed by all students and parents applies to, but is not limited to, all digital devices, storage devices/media, and digital content. Students are subject to disciplinary action for misuse of personal devices. Students are expected to use digital devices only for reading and academic purposes. Digital devices are not permitted during instructional time unless indicated by the teacher. Pictures and videos are not permitted on campus for any reason unless authorized by Mrs. Jackson.

Behavior• Respect the other teachers/adults at WMS

• Respect the other students at WMS

• Speak quietly in the cafeteria

• When in the hallway:• Stay in line• Four tiles from the wall• Do not lean on the wall• Listen for instructions

Dress Code• Jeans can not have holes above the knee

• Shorts/skirts can not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee

• Shirts must cover the shoulders-no spaghetti strap tops

• Tennis shoes are required for P.E.

Hall Passes

• Students must use their Assignment book when in the hallway without a teacher. The pass must include the date, time, destination, and the teachers’ signature.

Sixth Grade Mathematics• We will be working from our Glencoe textbooks this year• Volume 1 will be used first semester• Volume 2 will be used second semester

• Do not throw away any notes or scratch paper!

• We will also use Khan Academy

• Can also be accessed from home

YOU are responsible for getting missed entries

• Homework Assignments• Must be written in assignment book

• Computer Lab• We will visit the lab as often as possible. We will complete various computer activities such

as Khan Academy and other math practice/games

etc. prior to each test.
