Once you arrive on campus you stay on campus for the remainder of the day
Pick up after themselves at lunch. Mr. Robert and the rest of the custodians work hard and should not have to pick up after you. We stay in the commons at lunch(No Patio or Hallways)
Be in Dress Code according to the FBISD Student Code of Conduct Dress and Grooming Policy (After school and off campus activities included)

Girls – majority of infractions:
Improper length of shorts, skirt, dress - no shorter than 3 inches above the knee in the front and back
Excessively tight clothing – including shirts or ANY TYPE of pants
Shirts that show mid-drift
GUYS – majority of infractions:
Failing to be ‘clean shaven’
T-shirts/clothing with inappropriate wording or symbols
Tank tops are not allowed
Hats, Beanies, Etc.
Hair Color
From FBISD handbook: “hair color cannot detract or interfere with the educational environment.”
No blue, green, pink, “fire engine red,” etc.
In other words, hair color must be a naturally occurring color.
Kempner HS and Bullying
Bullying is …
• intentional• repeated• meant to hurt- physical and/or emotional• including online and social media
Bullying is not allowed or tolerated at KHS.
Please do not place yourself in a position where you are filled with regret or guilt for possibly the rest of your life.
Digital Citizenship
Electronic communication devices can be used during class time for instructional purposes with permission from the teacher
“Instructional use” does not include social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, etc.) or texting
Electronic communication devices are subject to examination (search) if there is reason to believe that FBISD Digital Citizenship guidelines have been violated
Digital Citizenship Use your device’s calendar and reminder
features to stay organized with school and extracurricular activities.
When using your digital device to access the Internet, you must use the district’s Wi-Fi network (when available).
You cannot use your digital device or wear headphones /ear-buds during emergency drills or classrooms (without teacher permission)

FBISD and Kempner High School are not responsible for theft or damage to a student’s personal digital device. Administrators will not investigate or conduct searches involving stolen or lost personal devices.
Know how to power off, silence, and responsibly use your digital device if you are bringing it to school.
We will not deliver any digital devices brought to the front office or interrupt class to send for you for this purpose.
Digital Citizenship
You are not allowed to take photos or make audio or video recordings without permission from the person(s) being recorded AND a teacher or administrator.
Be aware that your device will be confiscated for improper use (calling, texting,video recording) and/or violations of the FBISD Digital Citizenship rules.

Read the FBISD Digital Citizenship policy found in the FBISD Parent/Student Handbook – not knowing the rules is not an excuse!
Know the consequences for confiscated cell phones: $15 fine, parents can pick up the phone in 24 hours.
Responsible Use of Technology and Testing
Our campus practice is that when testing, teachers will ask you to place all backpacks at the front of the room and not have any electronic devices on your person.
Same procedures as EOC testing.
Failure to cooperate can result in a grade of zero and/or discipline.

Cell phone infractions are subject to district procedures of confiscation
and a $15 fine. (see cell phone policy FNCE)

Digital Responsibility: Inappropriate use of digital devices or any attempt to violate the provisions of the Digital Citizenship agreement may result in revocation of the student’s access to the computer/network/internet. Cell phones violations will result in confiscation, appropriate disciplinary actions, and parents will be allowed to pick up the cell phone the following school day upon payment of a $15 administrative fee. CASH ONLY

vs.-copying on a test-copying homework-cheat sheets-pictures of information on phone used on a test-one person does all the work and the group gets a grade-giving and receiving answers on a test
-your teacher will provide clear expectations on what is independent work and what is collaborative
-if you are unsure, ask your teacher
Extracurricular Absences (FBISD policy FM Local)
The District shall make no distinction between absences for UIL activities and absences for other extracurricular activities approved by the Board. A student shall be allowed in a school year a maximum of ten extracurricular absences not related to post-district competition, a maximum of five absences for post-district competition prior to state, and a maximum of two absences for state competition.
Students: this will be monitored closely and you have to choose which field trips, school events, sports you will spend your 10 days on

The Code of Conduct applies to all school/student activities – even if event/activity is off campus.
Medication Reminder
All medication must be dispensed by the clinic.
Students are not allowed to carry medication on campus – including over the counter medication
Procedures for medicine/prescriptions can be found in the student handbook
Back doors lock at 7:35 a.m.

Bell schedule- 2nd period starts at 8:25, PA announcements read at beginning of 3rd period
Exterior Doors
Doors lock at 3:00 P.M.
On campus only with an adult
For game days you must leave building and return at game time.
After School
If door is locked, please go to the patio door nearest the clinic
to be buzzed in.
You will need your 2016-2017 Kempner Student I.D. to show to the monitor to be allowed into the
building.
Attendance Information
If absent….bring note/parent email within 5 days to the Attendance Office.
Monitor Family Access to check absences/tardies.
Must be present 90% of the class days to receive credit.
You will receive a letter of warning and a conference with your AP and parent.

Early release from class – must show a note from parent / guardian.
Must go through the Attendance Office to sign in/out
Tardies
Teachers will shut and lock door when the tardy bell rings
Must go to the designated tardy station to check in and then you may go to class
You are tardy if you are not in the classroom when the bell rings.
Tardies can affect your exemptions

6th Tardy = 4 hour Saturday Detention
7th+ Tardy = In School Suspension + Campus Strategies
