WEL COME TO THE LAND OF MYSTERIES.

Many years ago, I spent some time in Egypt. I had wanted to go there since I was a child, but I never knew why. Egypt was always familiar to me and I always knew where it was on that map, even when that was not "cool" in school. Maybe it was a past life thing.

EgyptAir is a deep rooted airline established 70 years ago (in 1932). Throughout the past years EgyptAir owned and operated many different kinds of civil aircraft and was the first airline in the Middle East to operate the jet liners.  I traveled through airways from India to Egypt and landedin Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

My first destination in Cairo was to visit the White Mosque. I guess it was shinier before it was exposed to the pollution from the terrible, chaotic traffic in Cairo. I visited during my holiday season. It was very crowded and chaotic anyway.

This is the marvelous inside of The White Mosque. This mosque is a typical tourist visiting place, but also used for religious activities. All mosques are generally open to everybody at all times, and is a quiet place that allows you to escape from the noise and dirt that are common in large Arabic cities outside. Mosques usually have nice carpets on the floor, and you are required to take your shoes off. This helps keeping it nice, clean and quiet inside. You are also requested to wear descent clothes.

After visiting the White Mosque,the next day we went to see the Pyramid.The first time visitor to Cairo has to visit the pyramids. The first pyramid was the Step pyramid of Djaser built at saggara, about 15 kilometers from Cairo. The Pyramids of Cairo are the most famous monuments of ancient Egypt.These massive stone structures were built around 15 thousand years ago on a rocky desert plateau close to the Nile.

This is the famous hotel Cataract in Aswan in southern Egypt about one hour flight from Cairo.We lived here for about one week.It was really very beautiful. This was in the front of river Nile.Agatha Christies novel “Murder on the Nile” takes places in these areas. A traditional Nile sailboat is in front.

In Egypt we can find small, inexpensive establishments that serve good Egyptian food for only a few pounds. The large cities even have western style fast-food chains like Mc Donald’s and Kentucky Fried Chicken, but they are relatively expensive.

These are the dresses of Egypt that we saw there. The dress were same as the Indian dresses. These dress were made out of pure Egypt cotton.It was fully covered with embroidery.even we wore these dress, and enjoyed ourselves. These dresses were not too costly.

After visiting the pyramid in Cairo the next day we went to see the tomb of Thutmosis 3rd. We traveled through car. During our visit they were putting up glass walls inside the tomb to protect wall paintings from tourists fingers. It was a special experience to be inside one that was not touched, but lighting was well built in those having glass walls making them more suitable for photography.

This is inside the tomb of Thutmosis 3rd, and the Sarcophagus. In the bottom of the Sarcophagus an image of a woman is painted. Flash photography is never allowed. They have guards everywhere, and that is easy to understand. When you see the beautiful wall paintings in the background that is thousands of year old. The ceiling is covered with blue paint with little white stars painted on it.

This Aga Khan museum in Aswan. We came by car to this museum. This museum was the only place in Egypt where I was not allowed to take pictures.

After visiting the museum we went to see the temple in Edfu. This is between the river Nile.This is the best preserved temple in Egypt, and all main structures are intact, even the roof.If you don’t see many temples in during your visit to Egypt, you at least see this one.

After visiting the temple we went to see the river Nile which is near the temple Edfu. We went by walk, as it is very near to it. It was very fantastic, and we enjoyed very much. We also went boating.

This is a famous church in Memphis the ancient capital of Egypt. We came here by train of two hours journey. All churches are generally open to every body. It was a very quite place. All the people who came to the church were very descent and nicely dressed up.

This is a holy tree which was back of the church. This is also called as Palm Mountain.It was very huge in size. Many birds were sitting on it and it was very pleasant to hear the birds songs.

This road at Mount Sinai winds its way to Bir Zreir, Egypt. The Old Testament regards Mount Sinai, sometimes called Horeb, as the sacred mountain on which Moses received the Ten Commandments from Jehovah. The Sinai Peninsula is the most mountainous area of Egypt, containing the highest points in the country.

While visiting the places in Egypt we met many new friends and they were friendly to us. We enjoyed very much. The people of Egypt were very open hearted and they helped us to see many place in Egypt. They even came to India with us and enjoyed our happiness too.
